Advent Devotion for Monday, December 2
Theme: Anchoring Hope in God’s Promises
Scripture: Jeremiah 33:14-15
"Behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will fulfill the good word which I have spoken concerning the house of Israel and the house of Judah.”
Advent is a season of hope—expectant, resilient hope that is not rooted in circumstances but in God’s faithfulness. Jeremiah’s prophecy came at a time when Judah faced destruction and exile, yet it pointed to a future hope: the coming of the “Branch of David” who would bring justice and righteousness.
This promise was fulfilled in Jesus Christ, whose life and resurrection assure us that God always keeps His word. Whatever you face today, let this truth anchor you: God’s promises are trustworthy. Hope is not wishful thinking; it is confidence in the character of the One who promises.
Reflection Question:
What specific promise of God do you need to hold onto today?
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, anchor my heart in the promises of God. Help me trust that even when circumstances seem bleak, You are faithful to fulfill every word. Amen.
